In a plain and simple way, Steve Hamilton from BC Outdoors Magazine, walks through why gun owners are upset about the recent gun ban, but also why "Canadians as a whole" should be upset as well.
In a very easy manner, Hamilton explains:
- how the ban is "directed at the wrong people"
- Premiers and police chiefs have said it will do nothing to reduce crime
- and he shines some light on a couple of AR-15 myths
Perhaps my favourite part of the article is when Hamilton uses the example of cars to explain the gun ban to people who have never owned a gun:
"Your vehicle. It is now prohibited because it was made for nothing but speed...
Your neighbour’s Corvette, your old Mustang you got from your Dad, all must
be locked away and not used. These are way too powerful and not needed on
the street. You cannot even bring them out to show anyone." "But It's Just Assault Rifles" is a good read to help build your arsenal of arguments as to why the gun ban needs to be thrown out:
